Dr Irina Merkurieva

Dr Irina Merkurieva joined the School of Economics and Finance at St Andrews as a lecturer (assistant professor) in 2014 after after completing her PhD in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and got tenure in 2018. Previously she worked at the Graduate School of Management, St Petersburg State University.

Dr Merkurieva is a labour economist with research interests in the dynamics of employment behaviour over the life cycle, search and matching, health and ageing.

At St Andrews, she has taught EC5203 Econometric Methods and Applications, EC4411 Economics of Labour, and EC2203 Statistics for Economists.
