Scotland and Northern England Conference in Applied Microeconomics

Papers from all areas of applied microeconomics are welcome. Completed papers will be preferred over extended abstracts.  Submissions are open to individuals from any institution, although some preference will be given to those from Scottish and northern English institutions.

Professor Nils Braakmann (Newcastle University), Professor Lindsey Macmillan (University College London), and Professor David A. Jaeger (University of St Andrews) form the programme committee.  Paper submissions will open on 1 November 2025 with a deadline of 31 January 2026.  Submitters will be informed of acceptances by 15 February 2026.

The conference runs fom 8 am on 6 May to 3 pm on 7 May and includes lunches on both days, dinner on 6 May, and breakfast on 7 May. An informal dinner on the evening of 5 May will be organized by the conference committee, but is the financial responsibility of conference participants.

Conference fees are held constant from the previous two years at £400 and include all meals on 6 May and breakfast and lunch on 7 May, with two nights accommodation.    Subsidies for PhD students who are presenting at the conference may be available.

Accommodation is for sole occupancy of a standard double room. Additional guests may be added for a fee of £10 per night (including breakfast on 6 and 7 May).  Please contact David Jaeger ([email protected]) prior to registering to arrange for double occupancy rooms.  Additional nights can be arranged by contacting Adèle Stewart ([email protected]) at Crieff Hydro directly and mentioning that you are a participant in the SaNE conference.
